Woburn Library Employees, City Agree on 4-Year Contract: Report
The agreement is retroactive to July 1, 2014.
WOBURN, MA—Woburn Public Library employees and city officials have a new employee contract similar to the agreement with City Hall employees last year.
According to a report by The Daily Times Chronicle, Employees will receive 10.5 percent raises over the course of the deal, with two percent raises in the first two years, followed by a three and 3.5 percent raises in the following two years. Employees agreed to increase their health insurance contributions by five percent.
Gordon Vincent, who broke the story on The Daily Times Chronicle’s website, reports.
“It’s a fair contract for both our employees and our taxpayers,” Woburn mayor Scott Galvin said. “We’re happy that we’ve reached an agreement with another one of our unions.”
Earlier this week, the School Committee reached a similar contract agreement with the union representing the School Dept.’s assistant principals.
Most of the larger unions are still in negotiations with the city, including the Woburn Teachers Association, the two Police unions (patrolmen and superior officers), the Fire Dept., and another group of City Hall workers.
According to the report, the Teamsters Union represents 15 library employees, according to Galvin.
