Woburn Public Library Names New Library Director
The Woburn Public Library has announced its new Library Director.

WOBURN, MA—There will be a new leader of the Woburn Public Library during its upcoming expansion.
The Woburn Public Library announced Thursday that Andrea Bunker will take over as the new Library Director, effective on July 1. Bunker replaces retiring Kathleen O'Doherty, and has been serving as the assistant director for nearly three years.
“Andrea is a bright, talented professional who has devoted the best of her skills to improve Library services and community relationships. I am confident Andrea will serve the Library and City well as we continue our important work to renovate and expand the Library," Said Mayor Scott Galvin in a press release.“We also extend our warmest thanks and well wishes to Kathy O’Doherty for her many years of devoted service, and wish her much-deserved time with family and friends."

According to the announcement, Bunker has served in several public libraries and as well as a law library, and is a former high school english teacher. Bunker also championed the Library's Innovations series, as well as updated the Library's website.
“In my new role,” Bunker said in the announcement, “I am looking forward to tackling the challenges and embracing the opportunities this time of transition presents. I have had the best mentor in our current Director, Kathleen O’Doherty, and I feel fortunate to work with our fantastic staff, Trustees, Friends, and Foundation as we strive to provide state-of-the art services and collections to the wonderful residents of Woburn.”
