Woburn's Heimlich Nursery Donates Hundreds Of Tulips To Hospital
The nursery donated hundreds of pots of tulips to decorate the hospital for Passover and Easter.

WOBURN, MA — The new coronavirus has made it an especially dark time for hospitals, but that doesn't mean they can't celebrate the Spring holidays Passover and Easter. Woburn's Heimlich's Nursery has donated hundreds of pots of tulips to Winchester Hospital, which the hospital is distributing in patient rooms and common areas as part of an effort to brighten up the place.
"It means everything to the staff that the community is there for them," said Denise Flynn, the hospital's vice president of philanthropy.
Sandy Heimlich explained that he had 250-300 pots of tulips and didn't know what to do with them, before his wife suggested the donation.

"They're trying to brighten up the hospital a little in this crisis. It's a nice gesture," Heimlich said.
"We're going to dress up the hospital for Passover and Easter," Flynn said.

On Sunday, the hospital's employees are eating for free, also due to community donations.
"It's not about the flowers or the food, it's about the fact that the community cares about them and are there for them," she explained.
Tulip pots are going in every patient's room where it's healthy.
"For the patients, because of covid-19, they can't have any visitors," Flynn noted.
