Chipotle Looking To Open Second Location In Worcester

WORCESTER, MA — A Mexican favorite eatery is looking to expand its footprint in Worcester this summer.
Representatives of Chipotle Mexican Grill are expected to appear before the city's License Commission at a Feb. 19 meeting to request a Common Victualler license. If approved, a Chipotle storefront will open at 105 Stafford St. this summer.

Right now, there is one open in The Trolley Yard at 49 Park Ave., which would make a location on Stafford Street the eatery's second location in the city. The restaurant will be open every day from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., according to the filing.

The location will not include a drive-thru and could have outdoor seating, a representative for the applicant told the Planning Board during a meeting in April of last year.
There are 82 Chipotle locations in Massachusetts, including in Shrewsbury, Westborough, and Milford.
A few other businesses are expected to open in Worcester this month. Bees And Thank You, the mobile food truck known for its sweet and savory grilled cheeses, will open a store inside Worcester Public Market in Kelley Square, at 160 Green St.
Meanwhile, the state's first Checkers location opened this week at 99 Gold Star Blvd, and August Coffee, at 554 Main St., across from Federal Square and The Hanover Theatre, could also open this month.
