Quinsigamond Community College Police Officer Suspended By POST Commission

WORCESTER, MA — A police officer at a community college in Central Massachusetts has been suspended.
Tyler Goodney, an officer at Quinsigamond Community College, was suspended by the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission on Monday. His suspension follows evidence that he engaged in criminal conduct, according to the POST Commission.
He joined QCC as a campus police officer and attended the school's police academy in May 2025, according to QCC.

He is directed to surrender any agency-issued or government-issued permits, credentials, badges, and equipment associated with services as a law enforcement officer, the POST Commission said.
Goodney is charged with one count of felony strangulation or suffocation and one count of misdemeanor assault and battery, according to court documents obtained by MassLive.

He was accused of being verbally and physically abusive to a woman and was placed on paid leave from his job at QCC, according to the news outlet.
