Victim Identified In Fatal Hit And Run; Police Still Seek Suspect

A 72-year-old man was struck and killed early Monday morning while walking on Pleasant Street in Worcester.

WORCESTER, MA — A 72-year-old man was was struck and killed by a plow driver in a hit and run accident has been identified.

On Monday, Feb. 13, around 6 a.m., police responded to a fatal hit and run accident on Pleasant Street. The victim has been identified as 72-year-old Tu Nghiem of Worcester.

Police were called to 1251 Pleasant St., where a pedestrian had been struck by a pickup truck with a plow, with the driver fleeing the scene toward the direction of Paxton.

EMTs from the Worcester Fire Department were already on the scene treating the victim, who was lying in the street. The victim was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
It is the second plow-related fatality in two days. A 60-year-old man in Bedford was struck and killed Sunday night.

Witnesses told police that the man had been walking in the eastbound travel lane on Pleasant Street when he was struck by a dark colored pickup truck with a plow. The truck was heading west toward Paxton.
