Worcester Couple Sentenced To Prison For Sex Trafficking

The couple was convicted of trafficking a female victim for sex, and accused of threatening or using extreme physical violence on her.

WORCESTER, MA — A husband and wife from Worcester have been sentenced for sex trafficking a female victim in multiple states.

Kiersten Soto, 32, and Moises Soto, 33, were sentenced to 18 years of prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release, last month. The couple trafficked the victim for commercial sex in New England and threatened to use and used extreme physical violence on her, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

From February through May 2022, the Sotos used force, fraud, and coercion to traffic a victim for commercial sex in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, officials said. They also used a website to advertise her to se buyers throughout New England.

Kiersten Soto regularly threatened to use violence, abandonment and involuntary commitment to a facility, while Moises Soto used extreme physical violence, including beatings, assaults with wooden dowel rods, and choking if the victim didn't make enough money, the USAO said.

The USAO said that videos from their cell phones show them cornering the victim, threatening her, berating her, and calling her a snitch, while she suffered through agonizing drug withdrawals.

The defendants, who were charged in 2022, were convicted of one count each of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion in September 2025. Kiersten Soto was also convicted of one count of traveling or using interstate facilities to promote unlawful activities.

The couple was also ordered to pay a $5,000 fine and pay $138,000 as mandatory restitution to the victim.
