WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester man is facing charges after police said he fled from officers and tossed his gun while being pursued on foot.

Officers pulled over a driver, later identified as Carlos Ketter, on Saturday evening after police said he failed to stop at a stop sign. The 22-year-old told police he didn't have a valid driver's license and then drove off quickly.

Police said he drove recklessly down several streets and exited his car on Fox Street to run away from officers. But he didn't put his car in park, so it hit two Worcester Police Department cruisers, police said.

While officers were pursuing him, Ktter threw an object, which was later determined to be a ghost gun without a serial number, onto the off-ramp by I-290. They caught up with him and placed him in handcuffs, police said.

Police said that Ketter did not have a license to carry or an FID Card. Massachusetts State Police officers also recovered a black magazine and loose ammunition.
