Worcester Man Facing Child Sexual Assault Charges

WORCESTER, MA — A man in Worcester is facing charges involving sexual assault of a child, according to police.

58-year-old Axel Carrero was arrested and charged on Friday morning, according to police. The Worcester Police Special Crimes Unit Detectives held a warrant for his arrest following a lengthy investigation into child sexual assault with members of the Worcester County District Attorney's Office Child Advocacy Center.

WPD worked with the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Service and the Natick Police Department to arrest Carrero on Friday.

He was arraigned in Worcester District Court on multiple charges, including rape of a child, aggravated by a 10-year age difference (two counts) and indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 years old (four counts).
