3 Kids, 1 Adult Dead In House Fire In MI Upper Peninsula: Officials

An adult and three young children were killed in a Tuesday morning house fire in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, according to police.

Firefighters found a home at 3607 Shallows Beach Ave. in Sault Ste. Marie fully engulfed in flames at 7:37 a.m. Tuesday morning​, officials said.

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI — An adult and three young children were killed in a Tuesday morning house fire in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, according to police.

Officials found the body of a 31-year-old adult and three children believed to be between the ages of 1 and 4 years old in a Sault Ste. Marie home that went up in flames Tuesday, officials said.

Officials were still working to confirm the victim's identities and notifying family members.

Sault Ste. Marie is the northeastern tip of the Upper Peninsula, roughly 350 miles north of Detroit. The city has a population of 13,400, according to U.S. Census records.
