Bomb Threat Forces Evacuation At MI State Capitol: Police

Police determined there is no threat after troopers with canine teams swept the building, police said.​

MICHIGAN — The Michigan State Capitol in Lansing was evacuated Wednesday due to a bomb threat, according to Michigan State Police.

Police said an email containing the threat was sent to the Michigan State Capitol Commission's general account at 7:45 a.m.

Police determined there is no threat after troopers with canine teams swept the building, police said.

The building will remain closed for the rest of the day, police said.

It was unclear how many people were evacuated from the building.

Bomb threats were also reported Wednesday morning at state capitals in Connecticut, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi and Montana, according to The Associated Press.
