MI Man Offers To Pay Jail Inmate's Bond In Exchange For Killing Ex-Girlfriend: Police
Caleb Michale Beesley, 26, was charged with one count of homicide-solicitation for murder, officials said.

GAYLORD, MI — A Gaylord man was arrested Sunday after offering to pay a jail inmate’s bond in exchange for killing his ex-girlfriend, Michigan State Police said.
Caleb Michale Beesley, 26, was charged with one count of homicide-solicitation for murder, officials said. He was placed in the Charlevoix County Jail and not given a bond. His next court date is set for Nov. 1.
Beesley began a relationship with a woman in April 2021 and was accused of beating her for over a year, as they traveled across multiple states together, officials said.

The woman was taken to the hospital on multiple occasions because of the attacks, officials said.
Beesley was already in prison serving time for an unrelated charge when officials began investigating the attacks against his now ex-girlfriend, officials said.

Just as Beesley was set to be released from jail, the Charlevoix County Prosecutor authorized new charges in connection to the attacks against his ex-girlfriend and gave him a $100,000 bond, officials said.
After covering his bond, Beesley planned to kill his ex-girlfriend, offering to pay another inmate's bond, provide him with additional funds and buy him gifts in exchange for killing the woman, officials said.
The inmate told police about the offer, and officers passed that information on to state police, officials said.
Troopers initially had trouble finding Beesley because his GPS tether was defective, so they tried his new girlfriend's house in Traverse City, where they found him and arrested him in connection to planning to kill his ex-girlfriend, officials said.
