Country Day Takes Home Five Titles at County Track Meet

Oakland County high school athletes competed in the 52nd annual Oakland County Track and Field Championship Meet Friday at Milford High School.

Birmingham area high school teams competed Friday at the 52nd annual Oakland County Track and Field Championships.

Area athletes fared well as members of the Detroit Country Day teams took home five county titles, including Kendall Baisden, who came in first in the girl's 100-meter dash with a time of 12 seconds, while Brittany Mann powered her way to the discus title with a throw of 146-2.

For the boys, Country Day's Dartis Willis won both the long jump (21-1 1/4) and the high jump (7 feet). Also for Country Day, David Brown took home an Oakland County title in the discus with a throw of 160-5. Meanwhile, Jack Howard of ran to a first place overall finish in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:21.84.
