In Brief: Area Basketball Teams Defeated in Tuesday Night Hoops
Seaholm boys lose an overtime heart-breaker; Roeper and Groves girls team lose to top area teams

Seaholm High School
Alex Fanbel hit the game-winning shot in overtime as Troy Athens defeated in the waning seconds of overtime Tuesday night, 62-61. Fanbel had eight points while Jake Duzey scored 24 points in the victory for the Red hawks (4-8 overall). Sean Conway dominated all night long offensively for the Maples (2-7, 1-6) in a losing effort with 39 points.
Groves High School
For , Mark Corless scored 15 points but it wasn’t enough for the Groves boys’ team in a 59-54 loss at Farmington. Groves falls to an overall record of 2-7 and is now 2-2 in divisional play.
Meanwhile Groves's Grace Halloran’s 13 points wasn’t enough to overcome the hot shooting of Janelle McQueen and Sarah Benson as Farmington Hills Mercy (8-2) defeated Groves (6-3) 52-35.

Roeper Upper School
It was also a rough night for local girls’ teams. Kiera Canales scored 10 points for in a 52-35 loss to undefeated Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest Tuesday night.
