On the Agenda: Presentations from Supervisor Candidates and Service Expansion to Sylvan Lake

It's last on the agenda, but the Bloomington Township supervisor appointment is likely at the forefront of people's minds as residents say farewell to retiring Dave Payne.

History will be made at the Bloomfield Township Board of Trustees meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in Township Hall.

Supervisor Dave Payne will oversee his final meeting before his retirement, closing a 41-year career with the township that started in the Road Department. The remaining board members will hear presentations from Treasurer Dan Devine and Trustee Leo Savoie, who are the declared candidates vying to replace Payne on Aug. 1. Other members of the board may also apply.

The meeting will also be the first to be televised on Bloomfield Community Television's Channel 15. The meeting will not be shown live because the meeting room is not equipped for that, officials said. However, it will be broadcast as part of the station's regular programming.
