DETROIT, MI — Looking up if you’re at Campus Martius Park this weekend could be worth $1 million in original art in what Guinness World Records artist Gurmej Singh is calling the “Detroit Treasure Hunt.” The Kalamazoo artist will hang upside down from a crane about 70 feet in the air and create custom pieces of art during each of the three days of the Great Lakes Food, Art and Music Festival, which runs Friday through Sunday.
Singh is one of eight artists who will be painting, sculpting and performing at the festival. Dozens of musical acts will perform on three states during the festival, including headliner Eddie Money on Friday, and more than 20 food vendors will offer American and international favorites.
There’s a kids’ zone, and admission to all events but the Money concert is free. You can find all the details on the festival website.
