239K Without Power In Metro Detroit Area After 'Extreme Weather': DTE
DTE Energy did not provide an estimation for when power would be restored in the metro Detroit area.
METRO DETROIT — More than 239,000 DTE customers in the metro Detroit area were without power Friday morning after another round of severe thunderstorms rolled through the area Thursday night, according to the utility.
The outages were spread across the entire metro area with the hardest hit areas including, Ann Arbor, Plymouth-Canton, Southgate and Southfield, as well as many others, according to the utility.
DTE Energy did not provide an estimation for when power would be restored in the area.

Following the "extreme weather," DTE said estimates would come “as soon as our crews can safely assess damage."
DTE reiterated to stay at least 20 feet away from downed power lines and keep children and pets inside. The utility said you should assume that all downed power lines are energized and dangerous.
