New Details In Killing Of 3 Detroit Rappers Last Year

The group went missing on Jan. 21, 2023 when they were scheduled to perform at the Lounge 31 on 7 Mile Road near Gratiot Avenue.

DETROIT — Police released an update after three Detroit rappers were found dead in an abandoned Highland Park apartment nearly a year ago.

Armani Kelly, 28, Montoya Givens, 31 and Dante Wicker, 31, were found shot to death in the basement of the abandoned apartment at McNichols and Log Cabin roads on Feb. 2, 2023, Michigan State Police said.

Police said the group was killed in a gang-related incident.

The group went missing on Jan. 21, 2023, when they were scheduled to perform at the Lounge 31 on 7 Mile Road near Gratiot Avenue. The show was canceled due to equipment problems.

Investigators do not believe there is a connection between Lounge 31 and the killings.

A juvenile was arrested and charged for possessing Kelly's vehicle while Kelly was missing, but investigators do not believe the youth is connected with the killings, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.

Although the investigation has generated suspects, detectives need to conduct more interviews and do more investigative work.
