Detroit Symphony Orchestra Requires Vaccination Or Negative Test

DETROIT — The Detroit Symphony Orchestra said on Wednesday they are requiring all guests to wear a mask and provide proof of vaccination or a negative test from within the past 48 hours of a scheduled performance.

According to their website, the demand goes into effect on Sept. 18 and will be required to enter the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center.

"The new protocols give the DSO the opportunity to safely bring back as many people as possible to indoor concerts and will remain in place until community transmission rates no longer require them," DSO's website said.

The Orchestra Hall will open to full capacity for the 2021-2022 season, but will also introduce remote options for those who cannot attend in-person because of the COVID-19 restrictions, DSO's website said.

There is also similar vaccine and mask requirements for DSO staff and musicians, as well as guest musicians. And details for ticket holders in providing proof of their vaccination status or test results will soon emerge, DSO said.
