Detroit Wellness Center Shooter Still Loose, Police Seek Tips

Detroit Police are still searching for gunman who opened fire outside a Detroit wellness center, striking two and killing one, police said.

Officials reiterated Thursday they need tips from the public in the whereabouts of 21-year-old Demetres Nathaniel Johnson,​​ who is considered armed and dangerous.​

DETROIT — Detroit Police are still looking for a man they believe shot two people, killing one at a Detroit wellness center in March.

Officials reiterated Thursday they need tips from the public in the whereabouts of 21-year-old Demetres Nathaniel Johnson, who is considered armed and dangerous.

Officials said Johnson was asked to leave the Detroit mental health facility at 6309 Mack Ave. on March 30, before he returned a short time later and shot two security guards outside the building. Diante Davis, one of the security guards, died from his gunshot wounds.

If anyone recognizes Johnson, or has any information pertaining to the shooting, they were asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 313-596-2260, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak-Up.
