DETROIT — If you've never seen Elton John live, you'll have one final opportunity to hear him perform in Detroit and Grand Rapids this year.

John will play the Little Caesars Area in Detroit on Feb. 8 and 9, which were rescheduled shows from May 2020. If you can't make that date, he'll also perform at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids on April 5, which is also a rescheduled show from April 2020. Tickets for all three shows are currently on sale.

The Rocket Man said this will be his farewell tour — aptly called the "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour, named for his 1973 album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. The 74-year-old plans to hit more than 100 cities around the world, performing hits from his celebrated catalog along the way.

"It's time to come off the road so I can fully embrace the next important chapter of my life," John said in a statement posted on his website.

The North American leg of his farewell tour will end with back-to-back performances at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. He'll then fly to New Zealand and Australia where he plans to play a series of shows and then conclude the tour.
