Girl, 15, Arrested After Threatening To Shoot Up SE MI School: Police

A 15-year-old girl was arrested after threatening to shoot up her school in Monroe County, according to police.

WHITEFORD TOWNSHIP, MI — A 15-year-old girl was arrested over the weekend after threatening to shoot up her school in Monroe County, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

The 15-year-old girl from Temperance told other students in a text group chat that she planned to shoot up her school within the Whiteford Agricultural School District on Monday, according to police.

School officials said one of the students' mother told them on Saturday about the threat.

Officials contacted the 15-year-old girl and her parents and searched their home where they found a small caliber bolt-action rifle, according to police.

Officers arrested the 15-year-old girl and placed her in the Monroe County Youth Center, according to police.
