Grand Hotel Celebrates Opening for Summer Season On May 4

Two newly designed Named Rooms and unique themed weekends highlight the 132nd season at America's Summer Place

WHO: Family-owned Grand Hotel will open for its 132nd season on Mackinac Island on Friday May 4, celebrating the unofficial beginning of the summer vacation season.

WHAT: The 2018 season will debut two newly designed Named Rooms:

  • The Prentiss M. Brown Suite, named after the former U.S. Representative and Senator from Michigan who was considered the “father” of the iconic Mackinac Bridge.
  • The Lilac Suite, which pays homage to the signature flower of Mackinac Island, decorated in beautiful shades of lilac.
