Downtown Detroit steps up police patrols after deadly stabbing of Jaquoya Wix (fox2detroit.com) — Downtown Detroit will see more police patrols, especially in alleyways, this weekend following the fatal stabbing of Chipotle worker Jaquoya Wix. City officials and mental health leaders are highlighting crisis response teams and resources as residents raise concerns about aggressive panhandling and whether unhoused people with serious mental illness are getting enough support.
