Woman stabbed to death in downtown Detroit alley while on a break from work, police say (cbsnews.com) — A woman in her 30s was fatally stabbed Sunday afternoon in an alley near the Chipotle on Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit while on a break from work, according to police. Officers used downtown camera technology to locate and arrest a suspect about 20 minutes later and are processing a recovered knife believed to be the weapon. Investigators are still determining any relationship between the two.

IOG Colloquium: Hippocampal Subfield Volumes Across the Human Lifespan (wayne.edu) — Wayne State University's Institute of Gerontology is hosting a research colloquium at the Freer House, just north of the Detroit Institute of Arts, with an option to join via Zoom. Postdoctoral fellow Roya Homayouni will explain how hippocampal subfields and cardiometabolic health across life relate to memory decline in older age. 5. Biological Sciences Seminar Series: Dr. Brendan F. O'Leary (wayne.edu) — A Wayne State University researcher is giving a seminar on how Detroit's industrial past still affects neighborhood health through contaminated land, groundwater, and aging infrastructure. The talk will show how mapping, monitoring, and data science can pinpoint exposure hotspots and guide smarter cleanup and health protections for communities across the city.
