Baker College of Allen Park celebrates grad week May 31 - June 3
Soon-to-be graduates will be the focus of attention during Grad Week, which culminates with Honors Night.

Baker College's Allen Park campus will honor its 2016 graduates by celebrating them and their accomplishments during Grad Week, beginning Tuesday, May 31, and culminating with Honors Night, Friday, June 3.
“For our students, graduation is an accomplishment that helps launch the next chapter of their lives,” said Kristine L. Barann, CPA, Baker College of Allen Park president. “Grad Week is designed to create some parting memories for our graduates that honor them and their educational achievements.”
During the week there will be an emphasis on fun that includes special decorations and treats, cap-and-gown photo opportunities with fun props, and graduation regalia available at the bookstore.

Honors Night will be held Friday, June 3, 6-7:30 p.m. in the Student Center and will open with a brief welcome and recognition from President Barann.
Nearly 150 graduating students who have achieved magna cum laude or summa cum laude status – with a GPA at or above 3.7 – will be named and those participating in the graduation commencement ceremony will receive their honor cords. Also recognized will be graduates who are active or veteran members of the U.S. armed forces.

In addition, winners of the Ed Kurtz Leadership Scholarship and the William Anthony Mason Award for outstanding citizenship, activism and academic achievement will be announced, and each recipient will speak about their journey and endeavors.
The Allen Park campus graduation ceremony is set for 11 a.m., Saturday, June 11, at the USA Hockey Arena, 14900 Beck Road, Plymouth, MI 48170.
