Better Fill Up; Lowest-in-U.S. Gas Prices May Not Last
By Tuesday morning, Michiganders could see higher prices at the pump. But for now, prices are the lowest in the nation.

The cheapest gas prices in the nation are in Michigan, according to two groups that track gas prices nationally.
Both GasBuddy.com and the American Automobile Association put Michigan at the top of their cheap gas price lists, at $1.79and $1.80, respectively. The sites are updated daily to reflect current prices.
Nationally, gas is selling for $2.03 a gallon.

Michigan’s cellar prices may not last. Patrick DeHaan, a senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy, told the Detroit Free Press gas prices could increase significantly by Tuesday morning
“It’s a matter of time,” he said. “We are certainly not Oklahoma, nor are we in the South where much of the crude oil infrastructure exists. So this is something that maybe happens every one or two years and the stars align and you see Michigan leading the nation.”
