Botsford employee receives hospital's award for philanthropy

The Botsford Foundation has named Terrance Slavin as the 2014 recipient of the Mainster Leadership in Philanthropy Award. Slavin serves as a director in the Financial Services Division of Botsford Hospital. The award recognizes Slavin’s many years of enthusiastic and committed work to advance the annual Autumn Gala by raising financial support from vendors and business partners.

“Terry is such a joy to work with,” says Margo Gorchow, executive director of The Botsford Foundation. “He works so hard and annually raises more than $100,000 for Botsford during each of the many years he has participated. It gives us great pleasure to present this award to Terry. He truly understands the power of philanthropy to advance our non-profit hospital.”

The 2014 Botsford Autumn Gala was a great success, bringing together more than 775 friends of Botsford for an evening celebrating the hospital’s upcoming 50th anniversary. Proceeds of $340,000 from the event will help launch the $10 million fundraising campaign to help expand Botsford Hospital’s Emergency and Trauma Center, construct a new critical care unit and create a dedicated observation unit. In addition, Botsford will expand and modernize surgical services with nine new operating rooms and the construction of a five-story, 80-bed tower.
