Described by Clarenceville Superintendent Paul Shepich as having the, “passion, knowledge, dedication and outstanding ability to do his job while making a positive difference for our school district,” David Bergeron was named the Oakland County School Business Administrator of the Year today by the Oakland County School Business Officials (OCSBO).

Since 1998, the Oakland County School Business Administrator of the Year award has been given annually to an Oakland County school business official in recognition of his or her outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the profession. Nominees must be employed by a K-12 school district and/or and Intermediate School District for a minimum of five years serving in the role of business administrator and/or similar financial leadership role, and have demonstrated achievements that have enhanced the effectiveness of the school district or the profession of school business.

Bergeron, in his 21 years as assistant superintendent for business and support services at Clarenceville, works with stakeholders to increase money going into classrooms while maintaining the financial health of the district. During his tenure, he has also taken on additional responsibility in an effort to reduce administrative costs.

“In our size district, Dave has managed to continually keep our fund balance healthy while continuing to put increased dollars into our classrooms,” noted Shepich. “Dave does for Clarenceville what other large districts’ entire financial departments do, and he does it with a smile and a positive attitude.”

“I am honored and humbled to receive this recognition, said Bergeron. “This award is really an acknowledgement of all the great people I have had a chance to work with over the years. It is our collective passion to put kids first that allows me to do what I do and to enjoy each and every day at Clarenceville as if it was my first. A big thank you to all!”
