Farmington Area Athletes Play in CA Tournament

The Southfield Indians 13U team looked great during their run through the McHenry County Youth Sports Association Summer Championships in Crystal Lake, CA, until they hit the bracket phase last weekend.

After rattling off four straight victories the Indians – a team whose roster includes many Farmington/Farmington Hills players – looked poised to make a run in the single-elimination bracket tournament. But they fell to eventual champions Illinois Flames 9-2 to end their tournament play.

The Indians beat Brazil 7-6 to open their tournament and followed it with wins against the Rockford Big Dogs (5-4), Crystal Lake Cardinals (10-1) and McHenry County Outlaws (7-2).
