The Farmington Hills Council of Homeowner Associations (COHA), together with the League of Women Voters-Oakland Area and the Farmington Hills Committee to Increase Voter Participation, will hold a Candidate Forum on Tuesday, September 25 at 7:00 pm in the Farmington Hills City Council Chambers at 31555 W. Candidates on the November 6th Farmington Hills general election ballot for State Senate, State House and three Oakland County Commissioner positions will participate. All residents are invited to attend.
The evening’s format will allow for each candidate to make an opening statement, respond to questions from a three-person panel consisting of representatives from COHA, the League of Women Voters, and the Committee to Increase Voter Participation, and make a closing statement. The forum will be televised on Channel 8 live and will be rerun periodically. The evening will provide an excellent opportunity for candidates to share their observations and positions on the State and County issues and needs.
In addition, City officials will discuss the Road Improvement Millage Proposal that also will be on the General Election Ballot. The proposed millage will change the method of financing local road repairs in Farmington Hills neighborhoods.

The Farmington Hills Council of Homeowner Associations helps subdivision associations share City information and discuss common homeowner issues such as neighborhood roads, deed restrictions, local land use and architectural controls, property values, maintenance of commons areas, etc. This umbrella group helps associations address concerns by establishing communication between associations and by providing a “voice” for the City’s homeowner groups.
For several years, COHA has sponsored candidate forums to increase voter knowledge of candidates and ballot proposals in city, county and state elections.
