Farmington, N. Farmington Advance in Boys Hoops District

It was a good start for the community of Farmington in the Class A boys basketball state tournament Monday night.

North Farmington won, 54-49, over West Bloomfield (11-7) and Farmington was a 59-37 winner over Walled Lake Western (5-15).

North Farmington (11-4) now faces Farmington Hills Harrison (6-12) on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Farmington High School in the first of two semifinals. Farmington (11-8) will meet Orchard Lake St. Mary (8-7) in the second semifinal at 7 p.m.

The district championship is Friday at 7 p.m.
