Five Farmington, Hills Runners Compete in State Cross-Country Meet
The Division 1 athletes have qualified to run Saturday at the Michigan International Speedway.
Races will continue Saturday at the Michigan International Speedway, but in a slightly different form, as the speedway plays host to the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Lower Peninsula Cross Country Finals.
Runners from , and high schools will join thousands of the state's top high school boys and girls cross country teams in Brooklyn, MI, to compete for state titles in their respective divisions. Local Division 1 qualifiers include:
Drew Lindman, 11th grade, Farmington

Division 1 girls will race at 2 p.m.; boys at 3 p.m. Gates for the finals open at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, with the first race beginning at 10 a.m. Tickets are $7 per person.
While the competitors don’t race on the speedway's actual two-mile oval, the 3.1-mile course does begin in the infield, and finish in the tri-oval near the start/finish line used for NASCAR races, according to MIS.
More than 1,900 student-athletes representing some 500 member schools will take part in the finals, the largest annual gathering of high school athletes at a single site for an MHSAA event.
