Founder of "Team Angie Fitness" To Give Workout Tips

The road race season has begun.

And what better way to gear up for that 5K, 10K or half marathon than to get some fitness advice and a chance to win some accessories to help you reach your goal?

AT&T is holding a health and fitness event June 20 at its Troy location, 2000 Big Beaver Road, to help local runners and walkers learn about fitness accessories, meet fellow athletes and get free advice from personal trainers. The event is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. There will be a 3-mile fun run prior to the event, beginning at 8:15 a.m. at the store.

Angie Johnson, founder of Farmington Hills- based Corporate Life Balancer and “Team Angie Fitness” - Be Your Best You will be among four fitness experts on hand to discuss a variety of topics with participants. A certified fitness coach, lifestyle coach and zumba instructor with a decade of experience, Johnson said she is just as passionate about helping others reach their fitness goals as she is reaching hers.

Johnson, Yoga Dan” and Pierre Vinson of “G.I.V.E. Fitness,” all whom have been featured on WJBK Fox 2’s ”Get Fit” segment, along with Sue Barnes, training program and community outreach coordinator for the Brooksie Way, will discuss a variety of topics from running, nutrition, overall fitness and stretching.

With drawings being held about every 20 minutes, participants will have an opportunity to win more than 20 great prizes, ranging from FitBits to sweatproof earbuds. The grand prize will be a Timex One Ironman GPS+ watch, valued at $399.99.

And in honor of Father’s Day weekend, the first five men who attend the event will receive a free fitness accessory.

His favorite exercise to teach people is the art of breathing, Yogadan says “Its the most powerful thing I can offer my clients.” he does so through Weekend Workshops all over the globe.

Pierre Vinson - Follow him at @givefitnessdet or on his website igivefitness.com. Pierre is the owner of the Detroit-based G.I.V.E. Fitness, which stands for Get Into Voluntary Exercise. He has a degree in health and fitness from Central Michigan University and is an American College of Sports Medicine certified health fitness specialist and has appeared as an expert on WJBK Fox 2 Detroit “Get Fit” segments. The company’s mission statement says they not only help you reach your goals, but teach you how to stay there. He works with clients ranging in age from 13 to 78.

Sue Barnes - Follow Brooksie Way news on Facebook or the websitewww.thebrooksieway.com. Sue is the training programs and community outreach coordinator for the Brooksie Way Organization. The program provides an opportunity for people, many who have never run before, to train for a HealthPlus Brooksie Way race, held annually in Rochester. In the past seven years, more than 1,000 people have been a part of the training programs. Sue has many years of running experience, including completing seven marathons, one ultra marathon, one Half Ironman Triathlon and numerous half marathons.
