Learn More About Farmington Area Inside|Out Art During Library Lectures

The May lectures will discuss works of art on display in Farmington and Farmington Hills through June 30.

On May 3 and May 23, the DIA (Detroit Institute of Arts) and the  will bring the Inside|Out program, on display in Farmington and Farmington Hills, temporarily back inside.

Art lovers will learn more about the exhibit during free drop-in lectures at the Farmington community libraries, beginning at 1 p.m.

On Thursday, May 3, the topic of discussion will be the seven masterpiece reproductions placed in . A trained docent from the DIA will lead the audience through a fascinating journey covering the history, details, and artistic significance of each artwork. Pieces include works from many time periods, styles and subjects, from portraits to landscapes to animals.

The May 3 lecture will take place at the , 32737 12 Mile.

On May 23, the seven artworks will be discussed in detail at the , at 23500 Liberty.

The Inside/Out exhibit, sponsored by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, is an exciting program where the Detroit Institute of Arts shares many of its most popular works by bringing reproductions out to communities. The brilliantly copied reproductions are close in scale to the original pieces.
