Farmington Hills native Megan Keller's overtime goal capped a perfect 7-0 run to capture the gold medal in Milan.

Farmington Hills native Megan Keller scored the game-winning goal in the gold-medal game of women's hockey at the Milano Cortina Games on Thursday.
Keller's overtime goal capped Team USA's 2-1 victory over Canada, completing a perfect 7-0 run to capture the gold medal in Milan. That run included a record-setting five straight shutouts.
Canada dominated the ice until the last few minutes of regulation when Hilary Knight, team captain for Team USA, scored to send the game to overtime. Keller then scored in overtime to seal the win and the medal.

Knight's game-tying goal with 2:04 left in the third period broke the all-time record for most goals (15) and points (33) in Olympic history.
For Canada, Kristin O'Neill scored the only goal, shorthanded, in the second period of regulation play, a lead they hung onto until the end of the third period.

Keller, who graduated from North Farmington in 2014, adds her new Olympic gold medal to her two other medals she earned in her Olympic journey: a gold from the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang and a silver from the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing.
She has played for the Boston’s Professional Women’s Hockey League's Boston Fleet since its first season in 2023-24, and was named captain in November.
