Oakland County Residents No Longer Under Boil Water Advisory

Commerce Township, Novi and Walled Lake issued the notice​ after a water main break in Farmington Hills.

OAKLAND COUNTY — Three Oakland County communities lifted their boil water advisory's Wednesday morning, state officials said.

The Great Lakes Water Authority said they tested the water quality in Commerce Township, Novi and Walled Lake and determined it was safe.

"Results for each of the two rounds of water quality testing have come back clear and the boil water advisories for Commerce Township, Novi and Walled Lake have been lifted, effective immediately," GLWA said in a news release.

The 48-inch water main broke Sunday evening near 14 Mile and Drake Road in Farmington Hills, state officials said. Crews continue working on the break and said Tuesday morning it should be completed sometime this week.

Commerce Township, Novi and Walled Lake issued the notice after a water main break in Farmington Hills. Other communities including, Keego Harbor, Sylvan Lake, West Bloomfield, Farmington Hills and Wixom were all reportedly impacted by the water main break, but did not issued boil water advisories, according to the Great Lakes Water Authority.
