Credit Union Awards $3,000 Plus in Classroom Grants to Chippewa
Michigan Schools & Government Credit Union awarded classroom grants to four Chippewa Valley teachers March 5.

From exercise balls to flash-frozen frogs, this year's will make a variety of projects possible in Chippewa Valley Schools.
Representatives from MSGCU recognized four Chippewa teachers Monday, who won $3,254 in grants for their project proposals.
The grants, which are designed to assist educators in covering the cost of innovative classroom projects that directly benefit students, were awarded based on the results of an online popular vote.

More than 70 grant applications were uploaded and some 53,000 votes cast.

Tracy Roberts, Wyandotte Middle School
- Grant used to purchase exercise balls to replace the chairs in her classroom
Sheila Majask,
- Grant used to purchase two iPads that students use for educational purposes
Kathy Swanger, International Academy of Macomb
- Grant used to purchase supplementary materials for the academy's library, with a focus on materials for the college-bound
Kim Voss,
- Grant used to supplement the cost of the freshman biology frog dissection project
