In Brief: Macomb Dialysis Clinic Named 'Center of Excellence'

Fresenius Medical Care named its Romeo Plank clinic one of nine Centers of Excellence in the Detroit area.

A Macomb Township dialysis clinic was recently named one of nine Detroit-area Centers of Excellence by its international parent company.

Fresenius Medical Care North America, an international company devoted to patient-oriented renal therapy, recognized its Romeo Plank facility’s achievements in patient care as well as eight other Fresenius clinics in the Detroit area.

These annual awards are intended to recognize the facilities that perform the best based on patients’ outcome measures such as dialysis adequacy, control of anemia, nutritional status, vascular access, patient satisfaction and transplant education.

"Our number one priority at Fresenius Medical Care is delivering high-quality care to our patients so they can be as successful as possible on dialysis, and lead rewarding lives,” said Steven Chowen, regional vice president for Fresenius Medical Care, in a prepared statement. “Our Center of Excellence award distinguishes the facilities that achieve the best clinical results through the dedication and hard work of the staff and partnering physicians.”
