Spotlight on Macomb: Chippewa Valley Winter Guard
The Chippewa Valley Winter Guard will compete in and host a winter guard and drumline competition on Saturday for more than 30 Michigan, Ohio and Windsor teams.
Members and coaches of the Chippewa Valley Winter Guard are perfecting their spins, tosses and moves in preparation for Saturday's competition at Chippewa Valley High School.
The color guard during marching band season, the winter guard competes against other guard units across the state in the Michigan Color Guard Circuit.
Occasionally known as "dance with weapons," the winter guard is composed of students, grades 9-12, who perform choreographed routines with flags.
