• Top high schools in Michigan for 2026 ranked by U.S. News and World Report (ourmidland.com) — Northville High School earned a top spot in U.S. News & World Report's 2026 rankings, placing 13th in Michigan and 507th nationally, including for STEM. The list compares nearly 18,000 schools on college readiness, test performance, and curriculum breadth, letting Northville families see how their school stacks up statewide and across the country.
   

• Humane Society of Huron Valley overwhelmed with cats after 4 hoarding cases, seeks adopters (wxyz.com) — Cats from a Northville hoarding case are among 149 felines now crowding the Humane Society of Huron Valley, which has waived adoption fees for adult cats to free up space. The shelter says many animals came from unsafe conditions and will need patient adopters as they adjust, and it's urgently asking area residents to consider adopting or fostering.
   

• 'Everybody talks about a Pilates body': Studios expand in Metro Detroit (bluewaterhealthyliving.com) — Metro Detroit's Pilates boom has reached even tiny Northville, where one instructor notes there are already five or six studios despite the city's size. New and expanding studios from Detroit to Troy, Plymouth and Ann Arbor reflect surging interest in low-impact, full-body workouts, driven by social media buzz and demand for more accessible fitness options.
