The candidates for two-year terms: Two candidates are vying for a single two-year seat. They are write-in candidate Bob Gritzinger (incumbent) and Steven Drakos.
The issues: Lake Orion Schools needs to cut $7.5 million from the district budget for the upcoming school year. The district also faces financial challenges from the state of Michigan funding cuts. In addition, voters turned down a $25.5 million bond in February that would have funded improvements in technology, security, buses and buildings.
