2 Women Say Their Drinks Were Spiked At Plymouth Bar: Report

The bar's owners told police they're taking the women's claims seriously and have been in contact with Plymouth Police, the report said.

PLYMOUTH, MI — Plymouth Police were investigating an incident at a Plymouth bar, where a woman said someone slipped roofies in her friend's drink, according to a report from Fox 2 Detroit.

Kristen O’Donnell said in a Facebook post that she and her friend went to the Post Local Bistro in downtown Plymouth on Friday. She said her friend left her drink unattended for "maybe a total of 2 minutes" before returning to her drink. O’Donnell said she accidentally knocked the drink out of her friend's hands after she took another sip or two.

About 20 minutes later, O’Donnell said her friend started to feel nauseous and vomit. "The vomiting quickly turned into her slurring her words so bad I could barely understand her and her being completely unable to walk," she said.

O’Donnell said she took her friend to the emergency room at Trinity Health St. Mary Mercy Livonia, where doctors confirmed someone put something in her friend's drink.

O’Donnell’s Facebook post was shared more than 2,000 times, which led to another woman claiming her drink was also spiked at the bar, according to the report.

The bar's owners told police they're taking the women's claims seriously and have been in contact with O’Donnell and Plymouth Police, the report said.

"We think very highly of our guests and try our darnedest to provide a safe environment," owner John Thomson told the news station. "The sad reality of it is no matter what you do, criminal behavior like this really hard to, No. 1 detect and No. 2, prevent."

Plymouth police asked anyone with information regarding the incidents or if something that has happened to you to call the department at 734-354-3232.
