Vietnam War Collection On Display At Plymouth VFW Post
VVA 528 Member, Joseph Tebor will make a presentation about his Vietnamese Language Propaganda Leaflet collection at the Plymouth VFW Post.
My name is Joseph L. Tebor, a retired Army Major, Vietnam Veteran and life member of VFW POST 6695 and VVA Chapter 528 in Plymouth. During the Vietnam War, and my tour of duty with 244thPSYOP Det, 7th PSYOP Group in Okinawa and Vietnam, I accumulated what I believe to be one of the largest and most complete private collections of Vietnamese Language Propaganda Leaflets in existence. I am donating my collection to the National Vietnam War Museum in Texas, which is scheduled to have its Phase One Grand Opening on June 25th, 2022.
I have been invited to attend the Grand Opening as their guest; but, before I deliver my collection to Texas, I want to make it available free of charge to as many of my comrades and members of the local community as possible.
My entire collection will be on display this Saturday March 26th at Mayflower-LT Gamble VFW Post 6695 1426 South Mill Street, Plymouth, MI 48170, from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM, for a presentation, and a question and answer segment, on Saturday, and again the next day on Sunday. The State VVA Council is meeting at the Post on Sunday, March 27th from
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. The general public will be welcomed at, or around 12:00 PM, for a presentation, and question and answer segment, after the State VVA Council, has concluded their business.

My collection will be on display during the State Council meeting for attending VVA members
only from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM. Immediately following the State Council meeting at 12:00 PM, it will be available to the general public. If there is enough interest, I will display my collection
one final time at VFW Post 6695 on Saturday, April 30th from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Come to one of these sessions and see and hear about an important part of the war, that very very few people
know about
This is an open invitation to all veterans, non-veterans, students, and anyone else, who has the
slightest interest in military history and would like to see, hear, and learn about an aspect of the Vietnam War that very few Americans, even those who are Vietnam Veterans, have even heard about, let alone seen.

I am referring to Psychological Warfare, and the use of Propaganda Leaflets, radios, flotation bags, the dissemination of leaflets from various aircraft (helicopters, A10 “Wart Hog” Jets, cargo planes and drones).
We also delivered transistor radios by balloon (launched from submarines). I have firsthand knowledge of these missions, and I will tell all about it if you come. Come to my presentation this Saturday or Sunday and hear about these and more. See leaflets printed in 3 different denominations of North Vietnamese currency, printed in full color front and back.
As the Intel Liaison Officer for the 244th Det, 7th PSYOP Group I was responsible for selecting the targets for every Vietnamese Language Strategic Leaflet Drop throughout all of North and South
Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos from 1 May 1972, until combat ended in April 1973. I provided 7th
Air Force 60 targets every month; they flew at least 1 mission every day and every mission included a minimum of 15,000,000 leaflets.
I also selected the targets for the last 6 missions involving the delivery of leaflets by remote controlled Drones. My collection includes a box specially made for drone missions, that is packed with the same leaflets that were dropped from these drones over North Vietnam.
PS: Don’t forget to ask about PSYOP Soap, and the Safe Conduct Pass Leaflet that I Put in a
jar of water in March 2015, and it’s still readable, intact, and unable to be torn.
