Art & Apples Artist: Jim Parker

Unique photographs of ghost towns will be displayed at Jim Parker's booth.

What he will be selling: He will have a double booth on site featuring two exhibits. One exhibit will showcase shots of Western landscapes and ghost towns entitled “Stories in Things Left Behind,” while the other series is made up of Michigan scenic shots under the “Images from the Great Lakes” umbrella.

Must-see pieces at the festival: Parker noted all of his pieces are must see pieces but his farm photographs are especially intriguing. One of a deserted farmhouse in Nebraska catches the eye, he said.

Why he likes the : His favorite part of the festival is the delicious pie. “Plus it’s a local show and I get to sleep at home,” he said.

How long he has been displaying his work at Art & Apples: Six years

What makes his work unique: The subject matter he shoots is unique, and Parker believes his eye for a good image sets him apart.

What inspires his creations: Ghost towns, mines and farms. He grew up on a ranch in South Dakota and started shooting similar scenic shots when he was a little boy.
