Red Oaks County Park is opening up the park for some friendly competition. The Red Oaks Sizzler BBQ Battle will put your ribs expertise to the test. Interested in competing? You need to register by August 12 by calling 248-424-7076. Check in and meat inspection starts at 7a.m.
Thinking you are more of a spectator? The doors open at noon where you can watch the competitors work their grills for the grand prize of an $800 grill.
There are many activities for everyone, including barbeque vendors, kick ball, Lincoln Logs, Legos, face painting and inflatables. Hudsonville Creamery is providing free ice cream and the Madison Heights Fire Department will let kids use a small hose, climb on the truck and try on a firefighter’s uniform. Interested in a water balloon contest and three-legged race to win a free waterpark pass? It will all be there.
