Stoney Creek Metropark is having a kid appreciation day! You need your park pass to enter ($5 daily or $25 annual), but once you are in the park, there are fun activities abound.
There will be one hour of free bicycle rental for kids 20 and under when accompanied by a full-paying adult, and golfers play for $5 when accompanied by a full-paying adult after noon.
From noon to 3 p.m., the Nature Center will have "Creepy Critters." Children will learn about insects, spiders and reptiles. There will also be games and crafts, and kids can try to guess the date that the snapping turtle eggs will hatch and win a prize.
