The young girl told officers when the man saw her looking at him, he opened his jacket and exposed himself to her before walking away, police said.
Officials said other law enforcement agencies, including Michigan State Police and Canton Police have reported similar incidents matching Terry's description.
Michigan State Police recently obtained a warrant charging Terry on a Nov. 19 incident in Groveland Township, officials said.
Terry cooperated with police on all three incidents, after a family member identified him in a still
photo from the Groveland incident, officials said.
"I am pleased that in concert with our law enforcement partners, these numerous criminal
events were tied together and matched him as the suspect," Sheriff Michael Bouchard said.
"This man is a serial sex offender and needs to go away for a long time."
Terry was convicted in 1998 in Genesee County for being a sexually delinquent person. In 2013, he was convicted of criminal sexual conduct with intent to commit sexual penetration. In 2020, he was convicted in Ottawa County of aggravated indecent exposure. He has been on the sex offender registry since 2011, officials said.
