When police arrived, they found one man lying on his back in the front yard with his shirt covered in blood. Officers tried to save him while other deputies went inside the home to check for additional victims and a possible suspect, police said.

Officers found the other man lying on his back in the upstairs rear living room area with multiple gunshot wounds. The suspect was not in the home, police said.

Paramedics took the two men to a local hospital where they were formally pronounced dead, police said.

Officers also found numerous spent casings and bullets inside the house near the second victim’s body and the back door, police said.

In addition, officers said there was a blood trail leading from the door across the backyard. A K9 police dog attempted to track the suspect, but was unsuccessful.
