Oxford HS Unveils Plan To Bring Students Back To School
Superintendent Tim Throne said the tentative plan calls for students to return to in-person classes at the high school on Jan. 24.
OXFORD, MI — Oxford High School plans to bring students back to the building on Jan. 24, Superintendent Tim Throne said in a statement Wednesday.
Before then, however, the plan tentatively calls for high school students to return to in-person learning by sharing the district's middle school building for two weeks, from Monday through Jan. 21.
Throne said in the statement parents will receive a detailed schedule from each principal.

"We hope this slow transition together at OMS will help in the healing process and ease our high school students back in a familiar academic setting," Throne said.
Renovations to Oxford High School will be completed by Jan. 17, although Throne did not specify what upgrades were made to the building.

The high school's athletic practices will resume on Monday, and will begin to host athletic competitions again beginning Jan. 24. However, all other areas of the high school will remain inaccessible while the school is open for practices.
Throne also said the school district also plans to host three open houses in the high school building for families to visit before students return.
Oxford High School has been closed since the deadly Oxford school shooting that left four students dead and seven others wounded on Nov. 30.
